Enhanced Web site expedites business practices and provides innovative services

Background

Weichert Title (Weichert) is a division of Weichert Realtors, the largest privately owned real estate company in the U.S. Weichert Realtors has over 10,000 sales associates in more than 200 company-owned and franchised offices throughout the eastern U.S. Weichert’s site allowed customers to order title searches online, but performed in a cumbersome manner, which made the process take far longer than was necessary.

Objectives

Verascend was contracted to add a new component to Weichert’s existing Web site that allows visitors to order title searches and calculate insurance premiums online.

Solution

Verascend provided the following solutions:

• Weichert’s Web site had previously allowed customers to order title searches online. The orders were e-mailed to Weichert upon submission, but the e-mail was unformatted and very difficult to read. Verascend developed a new program that sends the order information in a formatted e-mail. The format of the e-mail mimics the layout of the electronic order entry form;
  
• The electronic ordering system on Weichert’s Web site previously did not provide the customer with an order confirmation. Verascend developed an order confirmation page that enables the customer to view, confirm, submit, and print orders all with the click of a button;
  
• Verascend developed a Premium/Closing Calculator. This application allows customers to enter purchase price and mortgage amount, and select the rate type such as basic, reissue, or refinance. Upon entering this information and submitting the form, the application calculates premiums and presents the customer with an attractive, printable page that contains calculated premiums as well as estimated fees.
